Visit at the 5th German Pancreatic Cancer Research Meeting

RBCT | November, 2025

Researchers from the Robert Bosch Center for Tumor Diseases (RBCT) took part in the 5th German Pancreatic Cancer Research Meeting at the Leopoldina – National Academy of Sciences in Halle. The three-day conference brought together experts from across Germany to discuss current developments in pancreatic cancer research.

The RBCT delegation, including several early-career scientists and Prof. Dr. Steven A. Johnsen, contributed actively to the scientific program. Thomas Ekstrom and Akshay Kanakan presented their findings in talks that drew significant interest. In addition, Meghana Manjunath and Zhangshuai Dai showcased scientific posters, the latter on behalf of colleague Marianna Dittrich, who was unable to attend.

Particular attention was drawn by the unannounced visit of Federal Chancellor Friedrich Merz during a session featuring work by RBCT collaborator Joana Oschwald.

The event offered numerous opportunities for interdisciplinary exchange and for strengthening nationwide research collaborations. It was organized by the graduate program GRK 2751 “InCuPanc.” The RBCT announced that it plans to participate again in the next edition of the research meeting.
